Design
Expertise:
WIN Enterprises’ core
expertise is in designing x86-based
board-level and enclosed appliances. We
design across the breath of Intel™,
AMD™, and VIA™ x86 processors and chip
designs with low-power requirements. WIN
solutions include a variety chipsets
from world-leading manufacturers, such
as, Intel™, Broadcom™ / ServerWorks™,
nVidia™, SIS™, VIA™, and AMD™.
Software:
Software is an increasing concern in the
design of embedded products. This means
the ability to support Microsoft
Embedded XP™, Windows CE™, and
increasingly, the various flavors of
Linux.
WIN Enterprises has developed a standard
BIOS for our products. We offer a
software development kit (SDK) for Linux
that helps speed OEM products to market.
In addition, Linux images are available
in CompactFlash™ and CD formats for
product testing. We have substantial
experience in firmware and BIOS
modification. In addition, we have
partnered with Award/Phoenix on
specialized software projects.
Reference
Designs:
We work closely with Intel and AMD on
the development of their industry
reference designs. Reference designs
like the Converged Applications Platform
(CAP) for Intel fall into the realm of
strategic designs. Our familiarity with
the exacting working methods of Intel
and AMD benefits all our OEM customers.
In addition, our knowledge is always
current regarding the latest versions of
x86-related peripherals, architectures,
and protocols, including: HyperTransport™,
PCI-e, ExpressCard™, PCI-X 2.0, PCMCIA,
PMC, PC/104, PC/104+, Firewire, and USB
2.0. We receive regular roadmap
presentations with our major technology
partners and have constant
communications.
